Frequently Asked Questions

How are words counted?

Words are counted by splitting text on whitespace. Multiple consecutive spaces, tabs, and newlines are treated as a single separator. Empty input returns zero.

What does Remove Duplicate Lines do?

It keeps only the first occurrence of each unique line, removing all subsequent duplicates. This is useful for cleaning up lists, log files, or data sets.

Can I undo an operation?

Operations modify the text in place. You can use your browser undo (Ctrl+Z) in the textarea to reverse the last change. For safety, copy your original text before applying transformations.

How does the sort operation order lines?

Lines are sorted alphabetically using Unicode code points, which means uppercase letters sort before lowercase (A-Z before a-z) and numbers sort before letters. This matches the default sort behavior of the Unix "sort" command and most programming language sort functions.
